Kenneth L. Coleman, Chairman
Kenneth Coleman has served on the Board of Directors of MIPS Technologies since January 1998. In 2010, he was named Chairman of the Board. Mr. Coleman was previously Founder, Chairman and CEO of ITM Software Corporation, an enterprise software company. Prior to that, he served for 14 years in various senior executive positions at SGI, including Executive Vice President of Global Sales, Service and Marketing; Senior Vice President, Customer and Professional Services; and Senior Vice President, Administration. Prior to joining SGI, Mr. Coleman was Vice President of Product Development at Activision, Inc. Mr. Coleman is the Chairman of the Board for Accelrys, Inc., and a member of the Boards of Directors of United Online and City National Bank.
Fred M. Gibbons
Fred Gibbons has been a member of the MIPS Technologies Board of Directors since July 1998. Since 2006, Mr. Gibbons has been a Consulting Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at Stanford University. In 1995, Mr. Gibbons founded Venture-Concept, an investment firm based in California, and was a Partner until 2006. From 1995 through 1999, Mr. Gibbons was a lecturer at the Stanford University Graduate School of Electrical Engineering. In 1980, Mr. Gibbons founded Software Publishing Corporation based in San Jose, California, a company engaged in the development of software systems for personal computer applications, and was its Chief Executive Officer through 1994.
Robert R. Herb
Robert Herb joined the MIPS Technologies Board of Directors in January 2005. He has been a Venture Partner for Scale Venture Partners (formerly known as BA Venture Partners) since July 2005. He was previously an Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD). From 1983 to 2004, Mr. Herb served in a number of executive positions with AMD, including Vice President of Strategic Marketing for AMD's Computation Products Group, and Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. He was promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and made a member of the office of the CEO in 2000. Mr. Herb is a member of the Boards of Directors of Enpirion, Inc. and NComputing, Inc.
William M. Kelly
William Kelly has served on the MIPS Technologies Board of Directors since January 1998. Mr. Kelly has since 2000 been a partner with the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell, where his practice focuses on advising technology companies and their investors with respect to mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. Prior to that time, he was Senior Vice President, Corporate Operations of SGI. He previously served as acting Chief Financial Officer of SGI and Senior Vice President, Silicon Interactive Group of SGI. He joined SGI in 1994 as Senior Vice President, Business Development, General Counsel and Secretary and was acting Chief Financial Officer of SGI from May 1997 to February 1998.
Jeffrey S. McCreary
Jeffrey McCreary joined the MIPS Technologies Board of Directors in December 2011. Since 2006, Mr. McCreary has been an independent management consultant. From 1980 to 2005, he worked at Texas Instruments, where he held a variety of positions including Senior Vice President, Manager of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, General Manager of Advanced Logic Products and General Manager of Worldwide Military Semiconductors. He is author of the book Creating the I in Team, published in 2007. Since 2008, Mr. McCreary has been a member of the Board of Directors at Gennum Corporation, a provider of semiconductor solutions and intellectual property cores. Since 2006, he has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Isola Group, a provider of materials used to manufacture printed circuit boards. Mr. McCreary is also a long-time member of the Board of Trustees of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, from which he holds a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and an honorary doctorate in engineering.
Kenneth H. Traub
Kenneth Traub joined the MIPS Technologies Board of Directors in December 2011. Mr. Traub is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ethos Management, a private investment and consulting firm he founded in January 2009. From 1999 to 2008, Mr. Traub served as President and CEO of American Bank Notes Holographics, Inc. (ABNH) a global leader in product and document security. Mr. Traub managed an extensive turnaround, as well as the growth and sale of ABNH, and under his leadership, ABNH stockholders achieved a gain exceeding 1000%. Following the sale of ABNH in 2008, Mr. Traub served as Vice President of JDSU, a leading global provider of optical products and test and measurement solutions for the communications industry.
Prior to ABNH, Mr. Traub was a Founder, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Voxware, Inc., a publicly traded supplier of voice processing software. Before this, he was Vice President of Finance of Trans-Resources, Inc., a multinational holding company. Mr. Traub is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Omnego, Inc. and a member of the Board of Directors at iPass, Inc. and MRV Communications, Inc. Previously, he served on the Board of Directors of Phoenix Technologies, Inc. Mr. Traub received a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Emory University.
Sandeep S. Vij
Sandeep Vij is President and Chief Executive Officer of MIPS Technologies. Mr. Vij joined MIPS Technologies and its Board of Directors in January 2010. Prior to joining MIPS, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Broadband and Consumer Division of Cavium Networks, a leading provider of highly-integrated semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing in networking, communications, and connected home applications. Prior to Cavium, Mr. Vij was on the executive staff of Xilinx Inc. for 12 years. He also held roles at Xilinx as Vice President and General Manager of its General Products Division, and Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Services and Support. Prior to Xilinx, Mr. Vij spent five years in various senior roles at Altera Corporation. Mr. Vij is a graduate of General Electric's Edison Engineering Program and Advanced Courses in Engineering. He holds an MSEE from Stanford University and a BSEE from San Jose State University. Mr. Vij sits on the Board of Directors of Coherent Inc., a laser and photonics company.
Robin L. Washington
Robin Washington joined the MIPS Technologies Board of Directors in April 2008. She has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Gilead Sciences, Inc. since May 2008. Ms. Washington was previously Chief Financial Officer of Hyperion Solutions, which was acquired by Oracle Corporation in March 2007. Prior to that, Ms. Washington served in a number of executive positions with PeopleSoft, most recently in the role of Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller. From May 2005 to November 2007, Ms. Washington served on the Board of Directors of Tektronix, Inc. (which was acquired by Danaher) and currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the San Jose Children's Discovery Museum and the Board of Visitors, Graziadio School of Business and Management, Pepperdine University. Ms. Washington is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and a MBA from Pepperdine University.
Frederick D. Weber
Frederick Weber joined the MIPS Technologies Board of Directors in 2010. Mr. Weber is also a member of the Boards of Directors of SeaMicro, a pioneer of low power server technology; and GlassPoint, a provider of solar steam generators for enhanced oil recovery. Mr. Weber was previously Founder, President and CEO of MetaRAM. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at AMD as Corporate Vice President and CTO. At AMD, he pioneered the company's Athlon and Opteron processors. Mr.Weber began his career working with Gordon Bell at Encore Computer Corporation, where he focused on parallel software development. He also worked with influential startups including Kendall Square Research and Nexgen. Mr. Weber studied physics and systems engineering at Harvard University and received BS/BA degrees in Physics. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
