Executive Team

Sandeep Vij, President and Chief Executive Officer


Mr. Vij brings to MIPS Technologies more than 20 years of senior-level management and marketing experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining MIPS, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Broadband and Consumer Division of Cavium Networks, a leading provider of highly-integrated semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing in networking, communications, and connected home applications.

Prior to Cavium, Mr. Vij was on the executive staff of Xilinx Inc. for 12 years, where he was instrumental in growing the company’s business by 3X to over $1.8 billion per year and enabling it to become the industry’s largest programmable logic vendor. Mr. Vij also held roles at Xilinx as Vice President and General Manager of its General Products Division, and Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Services and Support. Prior to Xilinx, Mr. Vij spent five years in various senior roles at Altera Corporation.

Mr. Vij is a graduate of General Electric’s Edison Engineering Program and Advanced Courses in Engineering. He sits on the Board of Directors of Coherent Inc. He holds an MSEE from Stanford University and a BSEE from San Jose State University.

Bill Slater, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer


Mr. Slater brings to MIPS more than 25 years of experience in financial management and operations at high-growth organizations. Prior to joining MIPS in 2011, he was Executive Vice President and CFO of Saba Software, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed provider of enterprise software and cloud solutions. He was previously Executive Vice President and CFO at Symmetricom, a NASDAQ-listed provider of precise time and frequency technology. While there, he successfully built proactive, business-oriented accounting and financial organizations to drive profitability.

Before Symmetricom, Mr. Slater served as Executive Vice President and CFO at Computer Curriculum Corporation, an educational software publisher and division of Viacom, where he oversaw strategies, business models, and infrastructure that helped grow revenue, operating income, and cash flow by more than 400 percent in eight years. Mr. Slater has also served as Vice President, Financial Planning, at Simon & Schuster, and Vice President and Controller, Professional Products Group, for Revlon.

Mr. Slater holds a B.A. in accounting from Queens College, City University of New York.

Ravikrishna Cherukuri (Ravi Krishna), Vice President of Engineering


Mr. Cherukuri joined MIPS Technologies as Vice President of Engineering in March 2010. He is responsible for all of the company’s hardware and software engineering efforts. Previously, Mr. Cherukuri was Co-founder and Vice President of Engineering of Sonoa Systems, an infrastructure provider of analytics, management and governance solutions for cloud services and APIs. Prior to Sonoa, Mr. Cherukuri was on the founding team and managed ASIC and hardware development for Siara Systems, a KPCB funded company acquired by Redback Networks in 2000. Previously, Mr. Cherukuri spent eight years at Nexgen Microsystem/AMD, where he was a key designer of AMD’s K6 microprocessor and also led the K7 chipset (Irongate) development effort. Before that, Mr. Cherukuri was an engineer with HCL Infosystems, working on architecture and implementation of the company’s flagship Magnum multiprocessor platform.

Mr. Cherukuri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from IIT Roorkee and a TRIUM Global EMBA jointly offered by NYU Stern, London School of Economics and HEC, Paris. He holds 19 approved U.S. patents in the fields of computer architecture and networking.

Gideon Intrater, Vice President of Marketing


Gideon Intrater joined MIPS Technologies in 2010 as Vice President of Product Marketing and Applications, and transitioned to his new role as Vice President of Marketing in November 2011.

Mr. Intrater brings more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor market to this role. Previously, he spent two years as Vice President of Architecture for Symwave, a privately-held supplier of high-performance analog/mixed signal semiconductor solutions for consumer devices. Prior to that, Mr. Intrater was Vice President of Solutions Architecture for MIPS Technologies, having originally joined the company in 1998. Mr. Intrater previously spent 10 years in technical management positions with National Semiconductor Corporation, where he was most recently Director of the Core Technologies Unit.

Mr. Intrater earned BSEE and MSEE degrees from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and an MBA from San Jose State University. He holds more than 20 patents.

Brad Holtzinger, Vice President of Worldwide Sales


Mr. Holtzinger joined MIPS Technologies in 2001 as the director of systems solutions and has more than 26 years of embedded industry experience in sales, marketing and engineering.

Mr. Holtzinger was salesman of the year at MIPS Technologies in his first year in sales. Subsequently, in his first year as vice president of sales, the Americas, he led the Americas team to record growth over the prior year. Mr. Holtzinger began his career at Motorola in 1979 and was one of the founding members of the Motorola Computer Group selling VME boards into the embedded market. In 1991 he joined Force Computers and established their embedded systems business unit. Additionally, he has had a successful career selling semiconductors as a manufacturer's representative for companies including Xilinx, PMC-Sierra, and Fujitsu, among others.

Mr. Holtzinger holds a B.S.E.E. degree from Purdue University.

Gail Shulman, Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Prior to assuming the role of Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for MIPS Technologies, Ms. Shulman served as Associate General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary. Her responsibilities included a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including legal issues arising in international operations, mergers and acquisitions, employment, finance and facilities. Before joining MIPS Technologies in 1999, Ms. Shulman was the first in-house lawyer—establishing the legal department—for Axil Computer (a subsidiary of Hyundai Electronics). She also worked for Thelen, Reid, Brown, Raysman & Steiner for more than seven years, where she specialized in corporate and commercial transactions and mergers and acquisitions.


Ms. Shulman received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law; and her B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
Dave S

Dave Singhal, Vice President of Corporate Development & Strategy

Dave Singhal joined MIPS Technologies in 2011 as Vice President of Corporate Development, responsible for driving business expansion and strategy initiatives for the company. Mr. Singhal brings to MIPS more than 20 years of experience with both early-stage and established companies.

He was previously a Director in the Corporate Development Technology Group at Cisco, responsible for strategy, incubation, and investment in areas related to video, mobile, cloud/end point hybrid processing and consumer devices. While at Cisco, he also held a position in the Chief Architects Office for the Service Provider Group. Prior to Cisco, he was an advisor for various VCs, consulting with early-stage companies in the areas of image/media processing. Before that, Mr. Singhal was Founding CEO at Luxxon Corporation, a pioneer in multimedia transcoding gateways for the 3G market and a leader in applications processors/graphics processors for cell phones. He has also held engineering roles at Neomagic Corporation, Trident Microsystems, Cirrus Logic and Advanced Micro Devices.


Mr. Singhal holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He has eleven issued patents, primarily in the areas of imaging processing/streaming.
