Security
Today, an increasing number of SoC designs are incorporating some level of security as a standard feature. This is especially true in digital consumer products, including Set-top boxes (STBs), digital television (DTV), smartcards and mobile devices where protection of digital content is now a requirement. To provide security for content and digital rights management, enabling Advanced Access Content System (AACS) as used in Blu-ray DiscTM DVD systems for example, requires a 'Secure SoC' to support:
Cryptographic acceleration, AES, 3DES, RSA
Trusted environment to run system software and protect sensitive data
Secure peripherals that prevent unauthorized access
Protection against cloning and secret key access
