MIPS Technologies is committed to forging relationships with third party providers to make it easier for customers to design unique MIPS-Based™ products. Optimizations around Adobe Flash, Android and other software platforms, relationships with design service providers, and agreements with IP and content providers are all critical pieces of broadening access to the MIPS architecture and easing the design process for MIPS developers and customers.
MIPS Technologies' alliance with Dolphin Technology, is all about making it easier for customers to access physical IP with MIPS32® cores. Dolphin is a leading provider of high performance physical IP for SoC design, delivering quality, high-performance, fab-verified silicon-IP at a fraction of the time and cost of in-house development.
Dolphin and MIPS are working together to provide a complete IP package for mutual customers. With the purchase of a MIPS32 CPU core, Dolphin will offer its physical IP products – including standard cell libraries, SRAM compilers, register file compilers, general purpose I/O libraries, DDR2/3 and HSTL I/O cells, and DDR2 PHY – as either individual items or bundled offerings with special package pricing.
The combination of MIPS® CPU cores and Dolphin physical IP provides customers with market-leading density, power and performance for SoC designs at significantly reduced licensing cost.
According to Mo Tamjidi, President and Founder of Dolphin, "The close cooperation between MIPS and Dolphin provides our mutual customers with a memory solution that has a compelling balance of high performance, compact area and low power. We have already seen a significant benefit to our customers as a result of this cooperative effort."
The Dolphin physical IP special package pricing for MIPS customers is available through both MIPS Technologies and Dolphin Technology sales representatives. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
