How can I enable hardware acceleration of video decoding in mplayer with creator Ci20 ?
thank you13th January 2016 at 9:33 am #63794
Please see http://elinux.org/CI20_MPlayer for details on how to get mplayer working on Debian 7 images with kernel 3.0.8

Are you running the Ci20 with a Debian 7 image flashed?
Can you please repeat the steps?
Did this error appear immediately, or after a while when many files had been compiled?

it ran well after using this line apt-get upgrade
but why didn’t it display like this line with this version of mpalyer?
A: 596.5 V: 596.4 A-V: 0.105 ct: 49.660 0/ 0 454% 253% 58.9% 1230 018th January 2016 at 10:45 am #63790
Glad you got it working.
I’m not sure I understand your question.
Please keep in mind.
Ingenic is the manufacturer of the JZ4780 SoC on the Ci20.
This mplayer is an old version with modified sources from Ingenic that allow hardware accelerated video decode to run on the jz4780.

this version of mpalyer supports VP8 and MPEG4 CODEC or not ?

The hardware in the JZ4780 does support VP8 and MPEG4.
However, as I have stated earlier. The mplayer sources are from Ingenic.
We don’t have comprehensive information on what level of support it provides.
Please test it as per your requirements.

vp8 works well without hardware acceleration.
but when I use Hardware acceleration I got this error
MPlayer interrupted by signal 10 in module: demux_open
– MPlayer crashed. This shouldn’t happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it’s MPlayer’s fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can’t and
won’t help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.

The mplayer code is from Ingenic.
I’m afraid we cannot assist much regarding the video decode on the JZ4780.
