Google hosts and develops a number of internet-based services and products. Google is very active in both the mobile space with its Android OS for mobile platforms as well as in the browser segment with the Chrome web browser. The Chrome browser forms the foundation for the future Google Chrome OS for notebooks, MIDs and desktop PCs. The Web browser available in the Android OS is based on the open source WebKit engine coupled with the V8 engine from Chrome.
