The GSMA represents the interests of the worldwide mobile communications industry. Spanning 219 countries, the GSMA unites nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators, as well as more than 200 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset makers, software companies, equipment providers, Internet companies, and media and entertainment organisations. The GSMA is focused on innovating, incubating and creating new opportunities for its membership, all with the end goal of driving the growth of the mobile communications industry.
In the European Union the GSMA represents more than 100 mobile network operators providing over 600 million subscriber connections across the region. We also have associate members (manufacturers and suppliers) and use our combined expertise to give the mobile communication industry a single and powerful voice. GSMA Europe’s primary objective is to support our members’ efforts to advance their collective public policy interests at the European Union (EU) level by effectively informing the public policy debate on areas touching mobile.
These interests and activities cover the whole spectrum of mobile communications, ensuring that wireless services work effectively, efficiently and safely around Europe. At the heart of everything we do is the aim of enhancing the value of mobile services to individual customers and national economies, while creating new opportunities for operators and their suppliers.
